Sandra has extensive experience in award and enterprise agreement applicability and provisions, complex award coverage, the operation of employment contracts and restraint of trade provisions, independent contractor and employee distinctions, unlawful discrimination and sexual harassment, dismissal process, risks and strategies, redundancy process and requirements, management of ill and injured employees, workers’ compensation claims, defending unfair dismissal and general protections claims and compliance with duties under workplace health and safety legislation.
Sandra provides tailored assistance in wage compliance, including performance of wage and payroll compliance audits and award/enterprise agreement compliance, determining underpayment claims and providing strategic advice on contraventions of the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) and assistance with disclosure processes with the Fair Work Ombudsman where required.
Sandra also provides workplace training to employers on a range of employment law topics and has extensive experience in conducting workplace investigations for bullying, sexual harassment and discrimination complaints.
Prior to joining Talbot Sayer, Sandra worked within a highly regarded specialist workplace relations practice at a Brisbane based mid-tier firm.
